At Element Knife Company, we offer expert hand sharpening using ceramic, diamond, and natural water stones, following traditional Japanese methods. Whether your knives are Japanese, German, or any other style, we are happy to sharpen them—even if they weren’t purchased from us.

For knives that are extremely dull or need special attention, we may use specialized machinery before finishing them on the sharpening stones to ensure the sharpest edge.

Knives can be dropped off during business hours, and we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Turnaround time is typically up to 24 hours, depending on the current workload. We’ll notify you as soon as your knife is ready for pickup at your convenience.

We offer professional handle replacement services to restore the comfort and balance of your knives. For Western-style handles, we collaborate with skilled bladesmith Akiva Meola from Metalwork by Meola. Japanese-style Wa-handles are replaced in-house by our expert team, ensuring your knife not only looks fantastic but also functions flawlessly. Let us provide you with a fresh, customized grip that meets your specific preferences and needs.

What types of knives do you sharpen?

We sharpen all styles of kitchen knives, including Japanese, German, and others, regardless of where they were purchased. This includes double- and single-bevel knives, ceramic knives, and pocket knives. Please Note that we do not sharpen Serrated Knives, Scissors, Hunting Knives, Swords, Lawn equipment, or other non-culinary items.

How much does knife sharpening cost?

Our sharpening rates are:
