Long-Handle Bamboo Matcha Whisk

Our natural bamboo whisks, known as chasen in Japanese, are the perfect companions for preparing your daily bowl of matcha (powdered green tea) and for mastering the art of whisking matcha. With up to 50 finely crafted tines, our chasen ensures thorough whisking to create a rich and frothy foam.

Before use, immerse the bamboo tines in a bowl of warm water. This helps to soften the bamboo, rendering the chasen flexible and resilient for effective whisking. Shake off any excess moisture before whisking your matcha. After each use, rinse the bamboo tines thoroughly in warm water to remove any residual matcha foam. Once cleaned, shake off excess moisture and allow the chasen to air dry completely by placing in on the included rest. This prevents the handle from retaining excess moisture, which could lead to mold growth.

To extend the lifespan of your chasen, store it in a comfortable indoor environment with moderate humidity levels. Excessive dryness may cause the bamboo to split along the handle, a natural occurrence over time for standard quality chasen. With proper care, our chasen can provide effective whisking action for upwards of 200 bowls of matcha.
