Presenting the Bunka, a meticulously hand-forged masterpiece by Bladesmith Akiva Meola in Berthoud, Colorado, expertly crafted from 1084 high-carbon steel. This innovative design, a recent addition to his impressive lineup of knives, serves as a versatile, multipurpose culinary tool. Each blade undergoes a thorough process of forging, grinding, heat treatment to a precise 62 HRC, polishing, and sharpening.

Designed for total comfort and confidence, the handles are skillfully sculpted in-house, setting this knife apart with unique features:

The 3/4 hidden tang design, coupled with a Western handle profile, showcases curly silver maple stabilized in blue resin. This enhances durability, providing toughness and resistance to water and heat. Following sculpting, the maple undergoes a flame-faded finish, adding a touch of artistry. The bolster, meticulously crafted from white Corian, seamlessly meets a mirror-finished choil and spine, rounded for optimal comfort.

With a blade heel height of approximately 45mm, this Bunka ensures excellent clearance from the cutting board, making it an ideal small-blade companion. The package is thoughtfully completed with a hot-formed navy kydex sheath adorned with polished brass grommets.
