This natural bamboo tea scoop, known as chashaku in Japanese, is an essential utensil in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. For the ideal matcha experience, it's recommended to use two scoops of matcha tea for every 2 ounces of water, equivalent to about 2 grams. The scoop should be rounded, filling just to the point where the chashaku begins to bend.
