This K-Tip Chef's Knife is a meticulously hand-forged masterpiece by Bladesmith Akiva Meola in Berthoud, Colorado, crafted from 1084 high-carbon steel. This innovative design is a recent addition to his impressive lineup of knives, serving as the ultimate all-around kitchen companion. Each blade undergoes a comprehensive process of forging, grinding, heat treatment to a 62 HRC, polishing, and sharpening.
Designed for total comfort and confidence, the handles are sculpted in-house, setting this knife apart with unique features:
The 3/4 hidden tang design is complemented by a Western handle profile, featuring curly silver maple stabilized in blue resin. This not only enhances durability but also provides toughness and resistance to water and heat. After sculpting, the maple undergoes a flame faded finish, adding a touch of artistry. The bolster, crafted from white Corian, meets a mirror-finished choil and spine, rounded for optimal comfort.
With a heel width of approximately 60mm, the blade ensures excellent clearance from the cutting board. The package is complete with a hot-formed navy kydex sheath, adorned with polished brass grommets.
Elevate your culinary experience with this exceptional K-Tip Chef's Knife, a fusion of crafstmanship and innovation, ready to meet the demands of your kitchen adventures.
NOTE: All processes are done in house and by hand. This means there are slight variations among the blades.
NOTE: Blade may rust if left wet, this is NOT a stainless steel.
