The Shigeki Tanaka Blue #2 Petty 120mm is a compact, high-performance utility knife built for precision work and everyday versatility.

A petty knife fills the gap between a chef’s knife and a paring knife—perfect for trimming, peeling, slicing smaller ingredients, and detailed prep both in-hand and on the board. It’s one of the most useful knives you can add to your lineup.

Hand-forged in Miki City, this knife features a Blue #2 (Aogami #2) carbon steel core, heat treated to 62–63 HRC for excellent edge retention and a responsive sharpening feel. The stainless cladding helps reduce maintenance while still giving you the cutting performance of carbon steel.

The kurouchi (blacksmith’s) finish and hammered texture create a rugged, work-driven aesthetic while also helping with food release.

Paired with a black pakkawood western handle, it offers a familiar, secure grip with solid balance and control.
