The 6” chef knife from Steelport Knife Co. provides the versatility of a chef knife in a more compact size. Ideal for those who prefer a shorter blade or have limited cutting space, whether at home or in a professional kitchen. The Steelport 8” Chef Knife and 6” Chef Knife share the same performance features, handle size, 2” height at the bolster, and blade width. The 6” version has a slightly shorter blade and a more pronounced curve at the tip.

Blade Shape: The 6” knife features increased curvature near the tip, effectively extending the cutting surface and enabling various cutting techniques. This unique design aligns the tip with a finger groove in the choil, providing comfort and control in the preferred pinch-grip. All surfaces are meticulously smoothed, ensuring a comfortable touch that prevents hot spots, including a rounded spine for added comfort.

Blade Material/Heat Treat: Steelport knives are constructed with a single-piece traditional drop-forged design, from blade tip to end cap, featuring an integral bolster for balanced and long-lasting performance. Our proprietary differential heat treatment process elevates American 52100 Carbon Steel to an unmatched 65HRC hardness at the blade for enduring sharpness. The spine and bolster are hand-polished for a supremely comfortable pinch grip hold.

Handle: Regardless of the user's size, the 6” Chef Knife boasts a full-size handle that matches the 8” version, contoured to accommodate any hand, and offering a 2" height at the blade heel for finger clearance. Steelport's handles are crafted from Oregon Big Leaf Maple Burl, a locally sourced, naturally unique burl wood, stabilized with resin to meet rigorous kitchen requirements, ensuring they won't shrink or swell.

Sheath: Safeguard your knife with an included custom-fitted Steelport 6" Chefs Knife Oregon Maple Sheath, which includes an internal recessed magnet along the spine for secure storage.

Care & Use: Carbon Steel knives require proper maintenance for peak performance. While not stain or rust-resistant, they are easy to care for. Simply hand wash and dry your knife after each use to keep it in pristine condition.
