Sigma Power Co., Ltd.
Sigma Power Select 2 ceramic sharpening stones are Japanese-made, professional-grade water stones known for their consistency, cutting speed, and excellent feedback. Favored by experienced sharpeners and knife makers, these stones are designed to handle everything from heavy repair work to fine edge refinement.
Unlike traditional soaking stones, Sigma ceramics require only a short soak before use and should be kept wet during sharpening. They cut efficiently without excessive softness, offering a controlled feel and predictable results across the entire grit progression. This makes them quick to deploy while still delivering the benefits of water-assisted sharpening.
Designed to work as a complete system, each grit serves a clear purpose in the sharpening process:
240 Grit — Repair & Reshaping
The 240 grit stone is intended for heavy edge repair, chip removal, and profile correction. It’s best used on very dull or damaged knives where significant material removal is required.
400 Grit — Coarse Edge Establishment
The 400 grit bridges major repair and sharpening. It’s ideal for thinning behind the edge, correcting geometry, and preparing a blade for refinement without being overly aggressive.
1,000 Grit — Core Maintenance Stone
The 1000 grit is the foundation of routine knife sharpening. It restores sharpness to dull but undamaged knives and establishes a strong, functional working edge.
3,000 Grit — Edge Refinement
At 3000 grit, refinement begins. This stone smooths scratch patterns from lower grits and improves cutting feel while maintaining enough bite for kitchen use.
6,000 Grit — Fine Refinement & Light Polish
The 6000 grit further refines the edge, increasing smoothness and precision. It’s ideal for cooks who want cleaner cuts without pushing the edge into overly polished territory.
10,000 Grit — High-Level Refinement
The 10,000 grit stone is used for advanced edge refinement, improving push-cutting performance and elevating overall sharpness.
13,000 Grit — Final Polish
The 13,000 grit is the finishing stone for maximum refinement. Used sparingly, it delivers a highly polished edge with exceptional control and precision.
Whether restoring neglected knives or maintaining finely tuned edges, Sigma Power ceramic stones offer reliable, repeatable performance across every stage of sharpening.
