Kikuichi’s VG-1 Stainless series is one of their longest standing Western style blades. Light and comfortable, once you pick one up, you won’t want to put it down. Hand forged in the technique of Warikomi, the core is VG-1, sometimes called V-Gold, with a cladding of SUS405. The full tang handle made from Mahogany Pakka Wood is comfortable, durable and heat resistant. A Gyuto (Chefs Knife) offers some of the most versatile cutting applications ranging from vegetable prep to meat and fish butchery. You will find that a Gyuto has a curved blade that allows for back and forth rocking, and quick and agile slicing.
