Ittetsu knives are a product of meticulous craftsmanship, brought to life by a skilled collective of blacksmiths located in Sanjo City, Japan. With unwavering dedication, they faithfully execute the original designs of the renowned master bladesmith, Tadafusa. These knives, adorned with a rustic Kurouchi finish, offer a superb experience in the captivating realm of Japanese cutlery.
Each blade boasts a resilient core crafted from White #1 High-Carbon steel, enveloped by layers of soft steel, known as Jigane, resulting in the coveted Sanmai blade construction. This unique combination ensures a robust and versatile tool, capable of handling a wide range of culinary tasks. A Bunka offers versatility similar to the Santoku. Its distinctive feature is the sharp tip with a clip point design, which gives it a drop point appearance. The Bunka's profile showcases a gentle curve, enhancing its user-friendliness and adaptability.
Boasting a Rockwell Hardness rating of HRC 63, these knives strike the perfect equilibrium between sharpness and durability.
The Japanese Octagon handle, lovingly handcrafted from mono walnut, provides not only a secure grip but also a touch of elegance, making kitchen tasks a sheer pleasure.
NOTE: Blade may rust if left wet, this is NOT a stainless steel.
